Sri Lanka is a bird paradise - wherever you go (whether you are traveling through an urban area or a rural locale) you can see many birds species - 439 bird species inhabit Sri Lanka from which 33 bird species are endemic. During the Northern winter season, thousands of birds belonging over two hundred different species fly to Sri Lanka from far away places like Western Europe and Scandinavia and these migratory birds live in Sri Lanka from August until April/May.
