The history of Arungam family with gem and jewellery industry runs back to many decades as the father of Arungam brothers – S. Arungam launched the Ambiga Jewellery in the coastal tourist hub of Negombo. The three sons of S. Arungam chose distinct paths in their careers – the first born; Dinesh Kumar following the footsteps of his father manages the family jewellery business, Ambiga Jewellers, the second son; Pradeep Kumar becoming a pro in hospitality industry and the youngest son; Kaveen Nirosh pursuing his childhood dream as an aircraft technician.
The year 2012 marked a memorable milestone in the lives of the three brothers – as a Chinese couple, befriended through gem trade visited Sri Lanka for vacation. Their experience with the Arungam family was joyful and exciting, and it was them who suggested the brothers that the travellers would love to experience Sri Lanka the same way. They spread the good news and same year another family visited Sri Lanka and thus initiated the Ambiga travel arm.
